Govt commits to utilizing technology to improve revenue collection

ISLAMABAD: The government has reaffirmed its dedication to leveraging technology to enhance revenue collection, increase transparency, and streamline the tax system. To this end, a ten-member task force has been established to modernize the tax framework with the assistance of the Special Investment Facilitation Council. The initiative aims to fully digitize the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

The task force’s primary objectives include policy-level interventions for FBR digitization, automation of all data, implementation of software solutions, and collaboration with provincial revenue authorities.
