COAS General Asim Munir Observes Multinational Exercise Indus Shield-2024 at PAF Base

RAWALPINDI: General Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), Chief of Army Staff (COAS), visited a Pakistan Air Force operational air base today to observe the ongoing multinational exercise Indus Shield-2024. He was received by Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, NI (M), along with Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, NI (M).

Indus Shield-2024 is the largest multinational exercise in the region, featuring participation from 24 distinguished air forces, aimed at enhancing interoperability and training through advanced facilities under the motto: “Stronger When Together.

COAS expressed satisfaction with the Pakistan Air Force’s combat readiness and the advancements made through various modernization programs. He observed exercise operations, including a static display of cutting-edge technologies, and was briefed on PAF’s modernization efforts to address contemporary security challenges. This was followed by an impressive aerial display by PAF fighter jets. COAS interacted with the aircrew, commending their commitment to safeguarding Pakistan’s airspace and emphasizing the importance of inter-service collaboration for operational success.

The Chief of Air Staff expressed gratitude for COAS’s visit, reinforcing the commitment to enhance cooperation between the army and air force in both training and operational areas. He informed COAS about the ongoing modernization and indigenization initiatives by PAF, including the induction of state-of-the-art weapon systems. During the event, Air Chief highlighted that Indus Shield-2024 will significantly improve interoperability among participating nations and prepare their air and ground crews for contemporary warfare challenges.
