Kamal reaffirms commitment to create conducive environment for foreign investment
ISLAMABAD: Commerce Minister Jam Kamal has reiterated Pakistan’s dedication to fostering a favorable environment for foreign investment, especially for Malaysian traders.
He made these remarks during a meeting with Malaysian Minister for Investment, Trade, and Industry, Datuk Seri Utama Tengku Zafrul Bin Tengku Abdul Aziz, who visited him in Islamabad today.
The Commerce Minister highlighted the significant potential for expanding bilateral trade between the two nations. He informed the Malaysian Minister that the Government of Pakistan has recently eliminated the Minimum Export Price for rice, enabling Pakistani exporters to negotiate more competitive prices.
The Minister also emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to upholding high halal standards, which are crucial for increasing access to the Malaysian market.
During the meeting, the Malaysian Minister assured his support for streamlining trade procedures for Pakistani businesses.
