1100 TEU Container Ship Project revived due to SIFC’s efforts
ISLAMABAD: The revival of the 1100 TEU Container Ship Project has been made possible through the efforts of the Special Investment Facilitation Council, marking a significant achievement in Pakistan’s cargo shipbuilding sector.
This initiative represents a collaboration between the Pakistan Navy, Karachi Shipyard, and the Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC).National Main Road Cycling Championship held in Lahore
As part of the project, Karachi Shipyard will locally construct its first large-scale commercial cargo vessel in four decades, a landmark moment for the industry.
With a total contract value of $24.75 million, the project offers the advantage of building ships at costs lower than international market rates. This milestone is a crucial step toward reducing reliance on foreign shipping companies and advancing Pakistan’s economic independence.
